Matchvue Livestreams BCMCL’s Opening Weekend Action

The 2025 BCMCL Regular Season officially kicked off with a thrilling Elite Division clash between Surrey Hawks I and Cosmos I, and Matchvue proudly brought the live action to fans worldwide.

In a contest that swung back and forth, Surrey Hawks I held their nerve to defeat Cosmos I by 25 runs in a hard-fought battle.

Surrey Hawks I Set the Target at 194

Winning the toss and batting first, Surrey Hawks I posted a competitive 194 all out in 45.5 overs. Their innings was anchored by a gritty 57 off 77 balls from Prabhpreet Bhullar, well-supported by important contributions from Daljit Dhillon (25 off 20) and Uday Bhagwan Singh (21 off 30).

Cosmos I’s bowling attack, led by Navjot Dosanjh and Manpreet Khaira (3 wickets each), kept the Hawks under pressure, but vital partnerships down the order allowed Surrey Hawks to push the score near the 200-mark.

Fall of wickets showed regular breakthroughs, but Surrey Hawks’ middle and lower order fought back strongly to post a defendable total.

Cosmos I Fall Short Despite Ajayveer Hundal’s Heroics

Chasing 195 for victory, Cosmos I made a steady start but quickly lost momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals. Ajayveer Hundal stood tall, anchoring the innings with a determined 66 off 114 balls, but lacked sustained support from the other end.

Bowling was the story of the day for Surrey Hawks, with Karambir Tatla starring with a brilliant 5-wicket haul (5/31 off 9.3 overs). Support came from Karandeep Singh (2/28) and Daljit Dhillon (1/27), as the Hawks kept the pressure tight throughout.

Cosmos I was bowled out for 169 in 47.3 overs, falling 25 runs short in their chase.
