Canada’s Future Takes Centre Stage at the 2026 U18 National Championships
The future of Canadian field hockey is about to step onto one of the country’s biggest stages.
From July 22–26, 2026, the nation’s most promising young athletes will gather at Tamanawis Park in Surrey, British Columbia, for the 2026 Field Hockey Canada Women’s U18 National Championship alongside the FHBC Men’s U18 Invitational Championship. Over five days of elite competition, provincial teams from across Canada will battle not only for championship honours, but for the opportunity to prove they belong among the next generation of Canadian internationals.
Every tackle, every aerial pass, every penalty corner and every championship moment will be available LIVE and on demand exclusively on Matchvue.com, bringing fans, families and the Canadian hockey community closer to the action than ever before.
For many of these athletes, this tournament represents far more than a national championship. It is a defining moment in their sporting journey. National championships have long served as the proving ground where future national team players first announce themselves, where lifelong rivalries are born, and where coaches begin identifying the talent that will represent Canada on the international stage.
The intensity of U18 hockey is unlike any other level. It blends youthful fearlessness with rapidly developing tactical awareness, creating a brand of hockey that is fast, energetic, unpredictable and filled with emotion. Every match carries significance, and every performance has the potential to shape a player’s future.
Matchvue’s continued partnership with Field Hockey Canada reflects a shared commitment to growing the game across the country. Through professional multi-camera live production, expert coverage and nationwide accessibility, supporters from coast to coast—and around the world—will be able to follow every match regardless of where they are.
Whether cheering from Vancouver, Toronto, Halifax or overseas, fans will experience Canada’s next generation of stars in real time.
But this championship is only the beginning.
In an exciting step toward expanding opportunities for young athletes, Matchvue and Field Hockey Canada are also preparing to launch a new Junior Development Program designed to help grow the sport from the grassroots level and provide even greater opportunities for aspiring players across Canada.
More information about this exciting initiative will be announced very soon.
As the countdown begins, one thing is certain: the future of Canadian field hockey will be on full display this July.
Don’t miss a single moment.
